Abstract

Mona Mona Mission was well remembered for its rules and regulations, which minutely governed the lives of those consigned to its care. Its rules fell into three general categories: those imposed by the Government of Queensland under its legislation concerning Aboriginal life and welfare, those created by the Mission itself to regulate the day-to-day behaviour of the Aboriginal residents on the mission, and those governing the behaviour of those who specifically belonged to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
