Teachers Working With Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students in Their Classrooms

Internationally: Workshop conducted 23 July 2015 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.at Longburn Adventist College (LAC), a Year 7 to 13 Christian high school in New Zealand.

This workshop was to help teachers highlight and identify their school culture and how linguistically and culturally diverse students might feel included. The workshop included identifying the services provided for diverse students. In addition the workshop outlined what effective teachers do within their classrooms and how they develop both cultural awareness and cross cultural competency. Strategies were discussed and unpacked for teachers in working with these students in their classes through their classroom communication, attitude and planning.
