| dc.description.abstract | This paper examines the concept of student voice and its potential role in shaping educational policy, particularly in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy, a rapidly expanding technology recently introduced to schools. It explores the current research trends on student participation in decision-making and student voice, highlighting the benefits of incorporating student perspectives for more effective and inclusive policies. The review identifies a significant gap in research on student voice in education policy, especially AI Policy, despite the rapid adoption of AI tools in classrooms. To address this, research questions focus on the impact of student voice in policy development, strategies for effective student participation, and the potential benefits of incorporating student perspectives in AI policy. By synthesising existing literature and suggesting future research directions, this paper aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of how student voice can enhance educational policy, especially in the evolving landscape of AI in education. Ultimately, it advocates for a more inclusive and studentcentred approach to policy formulation, ensuring that the voices of those most impacted by educational decisions are heard and valued. | |
