Abstract
This book contains pair-wise comparisons that enable the complex interrelationships between the accounts in the respective Gospels to be examined at the level of individual pericopes. It is divided into nine parts:
- Part 1 introduces the methods used in developing the underlined text in the parallels, describes the statistics that were gathered, and provides highlights of some of the significant discoveries that have resulted from this work.
- Part 2 presents pair-wise parallels between the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke), coded for common vocabulary and sequences of shared verbatim sequence of words.
- Part 3 provides statistical tables that report on the percentage of common words and the number of words in the longest verbatim sequence found in the pair-wise parallels between the Synoptic Gospels.
- Part 4 presents parallels between the Gospel of John and the other Gospels, coded for common vocabulary and sequences of shared verbatim words.
- Part 5 provides statistical tables that report on the percentage of common words and the number of words in the longest verbatim sequence found in the pair-wise parallels between John and the other Gospels.
- Part 6 presents internal parallels within the Synoptic Gospels, coded for common vocabulary and sequences of shared verbatim words.
- Part 7 provides statistical tables that report on the percentage of common words and the number of words in the longest verbatim sequence found in the internal parallels that occur in each of the Synoptic Gospels.
- Part 8 gathers together those parallels with long verbatim sequences of words in common.
- Part 9 gathers together those parallels with high percentages of common vocabulary, but without long verbatim sequences of words.
