Abstract
A history of the Advent Brass Band from its beginning in 1925 to the present day featuring the conductors William Gilson, son Bruce Gilson, and grand-son Reynold Gilson. The band has engaged in numerous charitable functions, both civic and church, taken part in the Anzac Day marches through Melbourne city streets, given concerts, made disc recordings and toured interstate.
