dc.description.abstract
This book explores Genesis through Deuteronomy "warts and all". It considers how these works should be studied, and traces the important theological insights they each provide. Major chapters are devoted to the ideals revealed in the Laws of Pentateuch and the social realities that these laws unveil. Other chapters consider the relationship of the Pentateuch to the rest of the Old Testament and to the New Testament.
