This exhibition of polished porcelain and timber platters seeks to combine the beautiful tactile qualities of marine ivory with both the textual and physical qualities of diamond polished porcelain in combination with carved historic Australian timbers. As such it seeks to speak to a localised Australian identity and narrative while drawing upon the expressive traditions of the traditional scrimshaw artists of the US north-east.
