dc.description.abstract
This chapter begins by exploring what spirituality means in a Seventh-day Adventist context. It then analyses data from questions relating to spirituality in the results of surveys completed in 2018 by teachers in Seventh-day Adventist Schools in the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (NAD). According to their responses, 94% of teachers prayed once or more a day; 87% read their Bibles once or more a week, 50% meditated once a week or more, and 88% returned 10% or more of their income as tithe. The analysis compares these results with those reported for the 2018 Seventh-day Adventist Church member’s survey for the NAD, and the Pew 2014 U.S. Religious Landscape Survey.
