Abstract

Between 1888 and 1903 the Seventh-day Adventist Church reorganized its administrative structures. That pocess refined a form of church government which had been designated as "representative". The reorganized form of the representative church government was conceived in response to the changing needs of the church, particularly those needs which emerged from its numerical, geographical, and institutional expansion.
