Item ADRA Solomon Islands(2020-07-01) Lounsbury, LynnetteThe Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) office of the Solomon Islands began its work during the late 1980s. Initially, the goal of ADRA Solomon Islands was to provide relief support to the people of the Solomon Islands, many of whom faced continuing climate crises and natural disasters. This mission expanded to include health education, peace initiatives, and small business support as the office gained local credibility and experience.
Item Betikama Adventist College, Solomon Islands(2020-07-01) Lounsbury, LynnetteBetikama Adventist College is a day school and boarding college located on the outskirts of the city of Honiara, on the island of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. Early development of the school at Betikama began in 1947, soon after the Second World War, under the leadership of Lyndon and Grace Thrift. Betikama students have represented the Solomon Islands many times over the years at Pacific cultural events and sporting events and with their musical and creative skills. The graduates are highly regarded as employees in the local area.
Item Church Partnership Program in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu(2020-07-01) Lounsbury, LynnetteThe Church Partnership Program (CPP) is a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) funded initiative out of Australia, to connect church nongovernment organizations (NGOs) in a way that expands and compounds their influence in the Pacific. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has been involved in this program through its non-government organization (NGO), Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Australia, and has implemented initiatives through the program in both Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu.

Seventy-four percent of this number are enrolled in primary schools.There are 986 government educational institutions in the Solomon Islands. Of these, approximately 251 are early childhood centers. The Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Education Authority operates 121 education institutions in the Solomon Islands comprising 15 early childhood centers, 89 primary schools, 13 secondary schools, two vocational colleges, a Bible school, and a nursing school.
